The installation of the QD software can be completed in less than an hour. • Can I use my existing database with QD? In fact, you must use your existing database with QD. Since it does not permit database writes, it cannot replace Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, Teradata, or any other RDBMS. QD makes those products work better and perform faster by providing users with local copies of the database. As a result, virtually all requests that come into the database will be write requests. Read requests will be handled on desktop/laptop-based copies of the database.
