How long does it take to get a foreign exchange student?

You need to talk to the people who organize for a program in your area. Yes, many programs have summer programs. And, it really depends…there are usually a lot of kids wanting to come to the US (I assume you are in the US. You don’t say), and not enough host homes, so that if you wanted to host one, and there are more kids coming than homes, you could surely still offer your home to someone for next summer. They DO have to run background checks for the people in your home, but that doesn’t take all that long. Talk to the foreign language teachers, and guidance people, they should be able to point you in the right direction.
