How long does it take to be a good piano player?
A good piano player or pianist? Believe you me, being a serious pianist, as in a good piano player who can master the horrendous technical skills required to play the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 3 might take years, if you just want to learn some simple 3 note chords in your left hand with one note right hand melodies and a few do-dadds here and there, then it shouldn’t take you that long. Please keep in mind however that the proficiency required for this type of level is ridiculously short do to how technically simple these type of arrangements are. If you want to learn to be a serious “piano player” you should start to sight reading, you will never progress with the ear only playing type of method and will discover after years of fooling around with this type of method you will wished you had learned the right way. I know ear only playing it’s something people seem to admire, mostly people who think as if it were some kind of alternate or “unique”, or “special” piano method, it’s
