How long does it take the prehealth office to prepare and send out my committee letter?
We cannot finalize your letter until we have received all of your outside letters of recommendation and have received notice from you that you have applied. Once you have applied, please email your Letter Request Form and “Medical School Summary List” to Mr. David McCarthy at david.mccarthy@nyu.edu. (see AMCAS, below) Without this notification from you, we won’t know that you have applied. Once we receive this information, it generally takes about three to four weeks for us to prepare your committee letter and post it. For medical school applicants, Virtual Evals will notify you via email once your committee letter has been received by them. The same process exists for osteopathic applicants. Dental school applicants can check their “online status” through AADAS to see when their committee letter has been received.
