How long does it take milk to sour?
If you are trying to make sour milk from pasteurized milk by just letting it sit, don’t try. The pasteurization process changes the milk, killing the bacteria- it won’t sour and thicken, it will just spoil and be undrinkable. Drinking milk that has been spoiled can be very bad for you. For cooking either use buttermilk, or add a tablespoon of lemon juice OR vinegar to any cup of milk you plan to use.
