There is nothing scarier than not being able to get your air. Zithromax is a wonderful medicine, and the drug of choice for this type of pneumonia. You shouldn’t be laying on your back without your head elevated somewhat. Gravity works against you when you lie flat. Don’t do it. Pneumonia is fluid in the lungs. You need to actively try to cough and deep breathe while awake, to help your lungs clear the fluid and crud. Take it until the medicine is completely gone and then check with your physician if you aren’t better, as it will be up to him if you need more. When the bacteria starts to die, it will spill toxins into the blood which will cause your temp to spike. This is another reason why you don’t skip doses.
