How long does it take for water to boil
Depends on the amount of water you try to boil, the temperature of the water, the heat output of your stove. If you really in a hurry it it mostly faster to boil the water in a kettle and than put it in a pot. Physically, there is probably a practical speed limit as if you would put a ridiculous amount of energy at once in it it would evaporate…..and you would be broke from the electricity bill. Why do you ask? To hear 1 litre of water by 1 degree C you need 1 kilo calorie of energy (approx. 4,184 Joule). Andas you know water boils, at sea-level, at 100 degrees C. So let’s say the water is 23 degrees C and you are trying to boil 1 liter of water you need 77 kCal (not considering any energy loss here such as heating the metal of the pot etc.). In this case you need approx. 75 Watts for 1 hour 150 for 30 min 300 for 15 min 600 for 7.5 min 1.2kW for 3.725 min 2.4 kW for etc….. As I said, this is not considering any energy loss, for instance when converting electrical energy into therm
