The loss of only one primary feather should not interfere with proper safe flight. If he “flopped” to the floor, there is something going on beyond the loss of one feather. Either his wings are clipped too much, he has lost more than one flight feather or he has some kind of injury that prevents him from flying properly. If he reacted too violently inside the cage, he may very well have injured himself. I would take him to a bedroom, shut the door and spread an old sheet on the bed. Allow him to fly from you to the bed. Observe if he seems to be able to fly and land properly on that kind of soft surface. If he can, then maybe the accident was just a fluke. But if he seems to have any trouble at all, you need to keep him confined to his cage to prevent further injury until you can get him checked out by a good Avian vet.
