How long does it take for pre-authorized payments to take effect?
It may take more than one statement period for the pre-authorized payment transaction to appear on your CIBC Visa Card. We recommend that you continue paying your bills until the merchant informs you that your bill is being charged to your CIBC Visa Card. Often, this is indicated on your merchant’s bill as “Paid” in the amount due section. You can also check your CIBC Visa Card account statement to confirm when the pre-authorized payment has been posted to your CIBC Visa Card Account.
