Filling out the FAFSA is just the first step in a process. How long or short a time of it depends a lot on you and your school. If you gave FAFSA an email address they will likely email you a SAR (short for Student Aid Report) that will say something like… “Based on the information you gave us, and if all the information is correct… you (are or are not) eligible to receive a federal Pell grant, however you may be eligible to receive other types of aid at your school…..” A site I’ve used… http://www.TopFinancialAid.info/ Hope that helps.
