How long does it take for broken bone to mend?
Depending on the bone anything between a week and several months (at least). A broken finger with a straight fracture will heal within one or two weeks. A multiple compound fracture of the thigh which is something you really really don’t want to have can take months to heal properly if it ever does. The easiest break to heal is a break to the nose, though this doesn’t really count as the nose is not a true bone but merely cartilage and can usually be snapped back into place. The hardest bone to heal (hard as in difficult) are the bones of the inner ear, the stirrup, anvil and hammer. Break those and you are deaf, they cannot reasonably be healed and need to be replaced, yes, this is expensive. The wors break in my personal experience was a work colleague who managed to get into a car crash (her fault) and shattered her knee, thigh bone (femur) and shin. Her leg was pinned for over 12 months. This means they drilled holes into the pieces of bone in her leg in order to attach external sc
