How long does it take for an authorization for Psychological testing and meds?
The MHP has a total of 14 calendar days to process ALL authorization requests, although most are processed within 5-7 days. However, if the request is pending due to a need for additional information or clarification, then the provider has a total of 30 days to provide the additional information. If a request for Psychological testing and/or medication is approved, like other approved service(s), an authorization will be sent to the provider. The actual appointment will depend on provider availability.
