How long does it take for a credit card payment to clear?
A credit card is processed instantly to give approval or denial. If the funds are availible, the credit is processed, if not it will be denied. When you make a credit purchase, your money gets processed and the other party has to accept the payments. It depends on the business. Some will not accept the money for three days and only charge a small holding fee such as gas stations. For example, I purchased gas last week and Used my credit card. They put a charge on my account for $1.00 even though I purchased $70 worth of gas. It took 5 days for them to actually accept the payment and show up on my statement. I wouldnt expect the dentist office or credit card company to mess up the charge because they are bound to catch it later, especially the exact time when you are real close to your limit. Happens to me all the time lol.
