How long does it take a sebaceous cysts to go away and are swollen lymph nodes painful?
A sebaceous cyst is basically a nasty form of ingrown hair or pimple. Sebaceous glands are the oil glands in our skin, when one gets blocked we get a blackhead or pimple. If one gets REALY nasty, it forms a cyst. As the other lump formed after shaving, it is likely to be an ingrown hair. Lymph fluid is the clear stuff that fills the space between your skin and muscles, it is what “leaks” out of burst blisters etc. Lymph nodes are situated all over our body and act as pumping stations to move this fluid and are also involved in fighting infections. Swollen lymph nodes usually occur when our body is fighting an infection, and less commonly as a symptom of lymphoma. They are attached to underlying tissue, which is why they don’t move with the skin.
