MORE INFORMATION: I am declaring bankruptcy. I went to the court on 2 January, but theyt said there was no judge until 24 January so I would not be bankrupt until 24. Also, they could not tell me how long it would be between my bankruptcy order and seeing the Official Receiver. I need to know these dates as I am moving abroad and need to book flights. Is it normal to wait so long to petition for your own bankruptcy? And how long will it take before I meet the Official Receiver?
