The oldest elephant (as of 2006) lived in a zoo in Taiwan and died at the age of 86. Generally elephants can live to be about 60. I can’t remember exactly, but I think that once they get that old they are no longer able to replace their teeth that have fallen out, and in the wild die due to malnutrition.
