How long does a withdraw from Effexor last?
I was taking this medication for about a month. I just barely left it like 8 days ago and I am feeling totally wierd. Getting off of Zoloft took me about a week or less and felt fina after. I don’t know about Effexor. A: Coming off any med requires a closely monitored plan from your psych or GP. My psych brought me off of 450mg/day of Effexor in 1 week (I don’t see him anymore). This resulted in me being in a wheelchair for a fortnight, as I could not stand. If you come off this drug too quickly, it WILL mess with you. Regardless, the side effects will leave you eventually. Make sure you have a strong support team around you, and see your GP/psych regularly. Up to about 3 months after my withdrawal I was still experiencing jolts (like little electric shocks), shakes and sweating. I feel for you, and honestly send you best wishes. This is a tough time, but you will come through it and, from my experience, being off Effexor is a positive thing! Cheers.
