The Hob and the oven go through a start-up cycle that takes approximately 4 minutes, at the end of that time both the hob and the oven will be well on the way to getting hot. You can compare the heat up time for the Wallas hob to a modern electric hob (not Halogen). The Wallas oven is fan assisted, so it will cook in a very similar time to a gas oven, if not quicker.
