3 days is safe, as long as it wasnt left out long periods before you put it away… but beyond 3 days it might not be so eatworthy. 6 days would be pushing foodbourne illness risk… although in reality the average lengh of time something needs to be around before making you sick is FAR longer than most americans put up with. For example, a pepperoni pizza can be left out for up to a day or two ROOM TEMPERATURE and be reheated, with almost no risk of food poisoning. Real Turkey is probably one of the quickest spoilers… id never eat it left out more than 3 hours at room temp, and never more than 3 days refrigerated. The reason we are taught to not leave meats, fish or poultry out at room temp longer than a few hours is because of the risk that IF a harmful bacteria IS present, it can quickly multiply to toxic levels after that time.
