How long does a pattern or practice investigation last?
We aim to complete our pattern or practice investigations within one and one-half years from the time they are begun. The most important factor in determining whether we can meet or exceed that goal is the degree of cooperation we receive from the jurisdiction. For example, our Cincinnati and Pittsburgh investigations were each completed in less than one year, while other investigations have taken significantly longer. However, in most investigations a variety of factors influence our ability to quickly complete our work.
