How long does a membrane last?
That really depends on you! In a well-maintained unit, where filters are changed regularly before they reach saturation, a membrane may last up to 4 or 5 years. If the unit is not looked after quite so stringently, the membrane may need to be changed every year to 18 months. The life of the membrane also depends on the solute level of the raw water being fed into the system.
