How long does a Maryland expungement take?

0

It takes approximately 3 months from the time your Maryland Petition For Expungement of Records is filed by our office. If there is an objection or appeal by the State’s Attorney or arresting law enforcement agencies the process will take longer. After the Court passes an Order requiring the expungement of Maryland police and court records, a copy of the Order is sent to each law enforcement agency. Each agency then has 60 days from the received date to comply with the Maryland Court Order of Expungement. Each police agency should issue a certificate of compliance. Until this is received from each agency, your Maryland arrest and court criminal records have not been expunged.
