How long does a lab test for rape take?
Testing CLOTHING is not a test for rape-that is a physical exam where specimens for testing are collected off the ‘body’. Clothing tests for DNA can only prove that the person the DNA came from had contact with that victim. DNA tests, unlike the CSI teevee shows, can take several weeks. It is NOT a speedy process. Now the PROSECUTOR for a rape trial would use the ‘PRESENCE’ of the ‘subjects’ DNA found on underwear, for example, to prove that he had ‘contact’ where he shouldn’t have…and from that point (if it is seminal fluid) it isn’t much of a stretch to show that RAPE could have occurred.
