Hi Allie, I would not advice you to open it or anything like that as it is a job of specialist. 1st disconnect your monitor from the system and only connect it to Power. If the monitor does not power on at all, it could be a power cable issue or the power port issue on the monitor. If you get Power on but a No Signal issue, it may be something to do with the Graphics port. Personally I believe it is a monitor issue, take it to HP repair shop (if under warranty) or a regular repair shop and they can fix it easily. Hope this helps. Oh..Answer to how long a computer monitor lasts, it may be 1-2 days to 6 years or more (one of my monitor is that old and still working). Wireless..
