How long do the green highlighted areas (aka replacements) stick around? What makes them disappear?
Snippet replacements stay highlighted until you close the file. This allows you to use the replacement functionalities for the duration that you are working with the snippet. Some of the replacement functionalities are: – Linked replacements: renaming one replacement field will cause all other occurrences of the same replacement to update automatically. – Intellisense completion lists: typing Ctrl+Space while a replacement is selected will invoke a completion list of potential options for the replacement.
