How long do the formals take?
No matter how fast we go, it always seems too long. Depending on the size of your families, they generally take 30 minutes to an hour from the time we start shooting. Having a logically ordered shot list beforehand goes a long way to getting through the formals quickly. If we do the formals prior to the ceremony, we like to be done at least a half hour before the ceremony starts. This gives us time to put away equipment and the bride time to drop out of sight as guests are arriving.
