im on effexor xl…but its basically the same thing, most of my side affects went away after about 2 weeks…but i still have some..

if you just started taking it, the major weird effects last for about 2-3 weeks, with the first week being the absolute worst. some other effects last for the entire time you’re taking the med. while it was great to be on it and hell to get off, i’m glad to be antidepressant free now.

I was on effexor for a few months and had some bad side effects, most of which subsided after about a month – but I had severe teeth clenching and grinding – my jaw would get so sore that I couldn’t eat solid foods – I had to stick to brothy soups. 🙁 This side effect didn’t seem to go away so my doctor weaned me off it. I experienced ‘brain zaps’ for about 3-4 weeks after my last dose. PS, Does your doctor know you are still experiencing side effects?
