How long do programs need to be in existence before applying for accreditation?

Program evaluation is an essential element in program quality and one area of focus for the NACEP standards. To become accredited a program must have completed a survey of alumni from the concurrent enrollment program who have been out of high school for at least four years, to evaluate the long-term impact on students of taking concurrent enrollment courses. In order to meet this standard, programs need to have been in operation for at least five years before seeking accreditation.
