How long do I have to pay child support?
you have to pay until he is 18. if you owe money back child support then you will have to pay until that is all paid off. after that your good to go BUT you have to go to court and take yourself off of it because if you wait for the courts to do it, you will be paying until he is 22 or 23 because they have no idea that he turned 18. They have so many cases they are not closely monitoring yours. Take a day from work, Go to domestic relations or whatever its called where you live, inform them that your son is now 18 and you want to take yourself off support and they will do it right then and there.
