How long do I have to hold a learner licence before I can progress to a P1 licence?
For motorcycle learner licence holders the minimum period that you will need to hold the learner will remain the same, i.e. 6 months. For a car learner licence you must hold the L1 licence for at least 3 months and 9 months for L2. This will mean that you will no longer be able to sit for your provisional driving test at 16 years and 11 months, you will have to be at least 17 years old.
