How long do children stay in hospital and what support is available after discharge?

0

Our average length of in-patient stay is 1.4 days (excluding the neonatal unit). 75% of surgery on children and young people is done as a day case. A third of our in-patients are discharged home onto the Children’s Hospital at Home scheme, allowing an even earlier discharge from hospital. Any child and family who attends the hospital is given the support of a 48 hour call and access service as required following discharge.
