How long did the charms and toys stay in circulation?
When trying to determine if a charm or toy was being sold at the time you believe you bought or owned it, the best and most solid rule of thumb seems to be, to establish the when the toy or charm first came into existence. So for example, if you learn here at Eureka Gumball Charm Nirvana that an item was a new release in the year 1957 and you know that for sure you collected gumball charms only between the years 1952 to 1953, then you can deduce that you didn’t buy or own the charm between the years 1952 to 1953. On the other hand, suppose that you collected gumball charms between the years 1961 to 1965, but for some reason you have a distinct memory of owning a charm that was first marketed in 1957, is this possible? Of course, since the manufacturers produced these in the billions and from seeing over and over the multitude of different types of packaging that these charms and toys have shown up in seems to indicate that the manufacturers produced much much more than they could sell
