How long did FDR serve as president?
He was elected in 1932, but was inaugurated to office in 1933. He served until April 1945 when he died of a cerebral hemorrage. He was the only President to be elected to 4 terms. Two years after his death, the 22nd Amendment which limits the president to two terms, was passed in Congress in 1947 and ratified in 1951.
