The US could suspend visa services indefinitely (as is the case in Iran – the US no longer has an embassy there), or in the case of places like Yemen, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia, the visa services will be suspended until the US government feels that the security situation is such that the embassy/consulate staff are no longer at undue risk.
