How long can siamese fighting fish last without food?
Depends on the health of the fish. A healthy betta (siamese fighting fish) can do for a week or two quite happily but not on a regular basis. On a regular basis, don’t go more than one or two days without a small feed. Sick fish need very small, regular feeds (assuming the illness isn’t related to their digestive systems) to keep up their energy. Bettas also need a really good quality diet. They won’t survive on the roots of plants as some people suggest – they need meat! A good quality pellet such as Hikari Betta Bio Gold or Atison’s Betta Pro is recommended, with bloodworms and cooked, de-shelled peas as treats!
