Contracts are for one year. Participants may re-contract up to two times (for a total of three years on the Programme) when there is mutual consent between the Contracting Organisation and the JET participant. As of 2006, Contracting Organisations have the option to re-contract any JET an additional two times if the CO deems that the JET participant’s work performance, level of experience and ability are of an exceptionally high standard. Thus, it may be possible for a JET to stay on the programme for up to five years.
