How long can beverages mixed with SimplyThick® be stored?
SimplyThick® brand gel thickener is an acidified shelf stable food. When added to another food or beverage, SimplyThick® brand gel does not shorten the allowable storage period of the underlying beverage. In regulated facilities, there is some variability in what is allowable in each state. However, SimplyThick® brand gel thickener is stable for much longer than any of these regulations. As such, beverages thickened with SimplyThick® brand gel thickener should be kept and stored in accordance with the regulations of each state for prepared beverages. At room temperature, beverages thickened with SimplyThick® brand gel thickener, a storage time of no more than 4 hours is recommended. If kept cool and below 41ºF (5ºC), i.e. kept out in the open with thickened ice cubes in it, the thickened beverage can be safely stored for 4 hours after the ice cubes melt.
