How long can a woman receive acupuncture after she gets pregnant?
Acupuncture, as a primary care for pregnancy, should begin immediately. We recommend receiving acupuncture once per week during the 1st trimester (first 3 months). Throughout this period, preventing any miscarriage and avoiding any pregnancy related condition is the prime focus. The patient is then recommended to receive acupuncture treatments every other week or even once a month. Throughout the 2nd trimester the prime focus is on keeping the energy, hormonal level, and constitution in balance. This is done by utilizing special channels during each month of pregnancy and is called “fetus education”.
