How Long can a human survive in water?

Your question has several variables, one of which is temperature. Even in tropical waters of say 80-85 degrees Fahrenheit, it will slowly bring the body temperature down to where it goes into hypothermia and death. In tropical waters a person can survive for days and obviously in frigid water, only minutes. There are other variables like ability to stay afloat…….but that’s another story for another day.

I don’t know for sure, but as long as the water was relatively clean and disease free, it would be fine as long as the body temperature could be maintained. Babies live 9 months in a sort of “water”.
