hi there a baby should do a bowel movement every day and if not youre going to know all about it evry soon as this baby is going to be in a lot of pain due to having a sore tummy and believe me this is not a nice crying session to go through as they do not understand why they are so sore .

I have a three week old baby and she does not have a bowel movement everyday. She has a bowel movement every three days. I am nursing her and try to eat and drink things to make her have a more regular bowel movement, however no luck. I have spoken to a few doctors and looked on a few web sites. Apparently if a child has at least three bowel movements a week this is normal. As much as we hate it, this seems to be normal. My two older children we like this as babies and as they grew older they became more regular. I think they we about 4 months. Good luck!
