How long between getting the implant and having a useable tooth?
It is possible to have a completed implant done the same day as the extraction of the failed tooth. Typically, however, there are several separate procedures followed by periods of healing. To ensure the best result we usually wait a 6-8 weeks following the implant placement before exposing it and attaching a healing abutment. Impressions would be made about 3 weeks later and the crown is then attached approximately two weeks after that giving a typical period of 12-14 weeks from start to finish.
