As a physician I suggest not worrying a bit about having unprotected sex unless your little one is quite small and not going to full term would be harmful or if there are other complications to the development progress of the newborn. If this is the case, then I would suggest using condoms about four weeks until your due date, but also keep in mind that any type of intercourse with or without condoms causes the mothers uterus to contract which would bring on unwanted early labor to the fragile fetus. On my own personal experience as a new Mum of a four month, my husband and I had intercourse right up until my little one was born. With our pregnancy our child was growing at the normal pace and she was having no complications.
