How long are the terms of appointment for Youth Legislature members?
Currently, the law provides that Youth Legislature members serve for approximately one year. The term begins on June 1 of the year in which the members are appointed and ends on May 31 of the following year. However, Senator Wiener has proposed legislation for this Legislative Session which would change this term to a 2-year term. If that legislation is enacted, the Youth Legislators who are appointed in 2011 will be appointed to serve a 2-year term which begins on June 1, 2011.
