How long and how many treatments are necessary to correct the sun damage/brown spots on my skin?
The normal skin cycle is 6 weeks for a young child. As we age, the cellular turnover rate is closer to 12 to 16 weeks. An initial correction is usually about three months with a combination of Retin-A, Hydroquinone, Glycolic acid, and SPF of 30 or greater. Additional correction can go beyond this initial period. The practice also offers Vi Peelâ„¢ to improve skin tone, texture and clarity while reducing brown age spots. FotoFacial IPL is another treatment to help with this condition. It is necessary to maintain the correction with home care, in-office treatments, and sun avoidance.
