How long ago almonds tree have been cultivated?
Historians generally agree that almonds are among the earliest cultivated foods. They are mentioned in the Old Testament of the Bible, and in classical times, Romans distributed sugared almonds as gifts. Particularly popular in the southern United States (and, we should add, everywhere pecan pie is prized), pecans are uniquely native to North America.
