How long after you stop taking birth control pills can you concieve?

I stopped the birth control pill in december. I was never on B/C too long. This would be our first child. Its been about 10 months and no pregnancy yet. We try not too think about it and we have been trying to conceive around/on my ovulation days. I spoke to my OBGYN because I’m in my early 20s and I’ve read in articles to speak to your doctor if you’re under 35 and have been trying to conceive for more than 6 months. My periods have also been prolonged, delayed, and recently absent. She did a pap and said everything looks normal (confirmation from some tests). She said its due to my recent weight gain and that just be patient, get in shape, and it WILL happen. But it’s disheartening and frustrating that it hasn’t happen. I guess just be patient… and if you’re still concerned, speak with your doctor.
