How long after the expiration date are eggs good in the fridge?
“Eggs can be stored in the fridge for about a month after the expiration date. A simple test to see if they are good is the water test. Take a bowl of water and lower the egg into it. If it sinks to the bottom and stays there it is very fresh. If it float to the top it is bad. Any egg that stays on the bottom even if one end is up is still good. Anything that leaves the bottom but does not reach the top is questionable and I discard. People usually do not know what the experation date means. It is a sell by date which the producer puts on the product to keep the seller rotating the stock. It is not a “bad after” date.
