How long after the astronauts launch until they take off their space suits?
ANSWER from Karina Shook on November 6, 1998: They try to get out of the suits as soon as they’re in orbit, which takes about 8 and a half minutes from launch. The orange suits they wear for launch and landing are called Launch and Entry Suits (LESs), which are different from the “Spacesuit” (which is white) that they wear when doing a spacewalk.
