How long after sinus surgery does it take for bruising to disappear?
Generally, except in very rare occasions, there should be no bruising after nasal and sinus surgery. The only two exceptions are when the patient is undergoing removal of a nasal or sinus tumor or the nose is being broken in a controlled fashion for nose reshaping (rhinoplasty). I prefer not to have cosmetic surgery performed at the same time as sinus surgery, if there is any active infection. It is best to treat infections with antibiotics before sinus surgery. If a tumor is present, incisions may need to be placed in locations that may lead to bruising. Fortunately, tumors of the nose and sinuses are very rare. Discuss this with your surgeon before the planned date of surgery.
