I hate to break it to you, but it’s going to take time. Load up on All Bran, Metamucil, kiwi and fresh fruits and veggies for awhile. And keep downing the water. Don’t be afraid to talk to your doctor and use an over the counter hemorrhoid cream or stool softener that is non addictive. It took me about a month, with reoccurrences of constipation here and there. I think at 3-4 months I felt normal again, but I admit that I might fight constipation more than many women. I must drink lots of water, etc. but now at 7 months post-birth, I’m recovered (not saying that it will take this long).
